Law enforcer who sold weapons to criminals was exposed by SBI agents in Odesa region
SBI employees exposed a law enforcement officer on the sale of explosives and military ammunition.
It was established that the law enforcer stole weapons from his military unit and was looking for buyers among criminals who had previously been charged with gun trafficking.
According to intelligence, the dealer set up illegal sales in November 2022 and has since managed to sell F-1 ammunition and grenades.
On 12 April 2023, the law enforcer was arrested while delivering another batch of ammunition and weapons. The law enforcement officer tried to sell almost 1,500 bullets and a pistol for about USD 600.
Currently, the issue of serving the detainee a notice of suspicion of illegal arms sale (Part 1 Art. 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) as well as choosing a measure of restraint is being decided.
The source of the supply of weapons is being established, along with other persons involved in the illegal activity.
The article provides for up to 7 years of imprisonment.
